Why AMEMSA?

Why did we found AMEMSA Alliance?

Why should you join AMEMSA Alliance?

Hear first hand from our members.

"I am interested in joining the AMEMSA alliance because as a first generation immigrant, I grew up hiding my culture and feeling embarrassed of it. I faced micro aggressions from my peers and teachers and laughed through them, letting them undermine who I was. But as I grew older I realized that my culture was nothing to be ashamed of. I want to educate the people of our country on the struggles of people that identify as AMEMSA so the next generation of children can hopefully grow up proud of their culture."

Ria

"I’ve loved the AMEMSA affinity group and want to keep connecting and learning with you guys, and hopefully make some action out of all this talk. Hopefully we can inform people both in AMEMSA and not about the issues and micro aggressions that we don’t generally pay attention to."

Aditi

" [I am interested in joining AMEMSA Alliance because] I’m hoping to address the commonly ignored racism against AMEMSA identifying individuals. My school is 70% Indian , yet I hear racist remarks all the time.
