AMEMSA Alliance was founded by an Iranian-American high school student seeking to make an impact and bring about change in regards to the representation and treatment of AMEMSA people in Western culture.

Meet the Founder
​
Sophia, 17, is a senior in high school from Westchester, New York. She has done social justice work with Amnesty International as both a member of the organization and school club president. She has also been involved with the American Civil Liberties Union as a member of the 2021 National Advocacy Institute. Outside of advocacy work, she has also won several national awards for her artwork. She also loves running and skiing.
